First Quarter

Chase Collins of Richlands dominated the first quarter of the Tazewell County showdown between the Richlands Blue Tornado and Tazewell Bulldogs at Ernie Hicks Stadium.
Late in the penalty-filled first period, Bryce Wade of Richlands blocked a Tazewell punt and Griffin McCauley recovered for the Tornado at the Tazewell 22. After a 5-yard penalty on Richlands, Collins pulled in a 27-yard touchdown pass on first down from River Michaels and Alex Bandy's extra point kick gave Richlands a 7-0 lead with 3:30 left.
The next Tazewell series ended with Collins intercepting a tipped pass at the Richlands 49. Before long, he was in the end zone again on a 41-yard TD pass from Michaels.
The Blue Tornado led the Bulldogs 14-0 after one quarter.
HALFTIME

In the second quarter, Alex Bandy nailed a 31-yard field goal for a 17-0 lead. Tazewell got on the board to make it 17-6. A 32-yard TD run by Chris Hall with 55 seconds left before halftime, along with Bandy's extra point, gave the Tornado a 24-6 lead.
Tazewell attempted a 51-yard field goal as the final seconds ticked away in the second quarter, but it was a bit short and Richlands carried a 24-6 lead into the half on their home field.
THIRD QUARTER

Richlands quarterback River Michaels got the third-quarter scoring started with a 3-yard keeper for a touchdown, and at the end of the third quarter, the Blue Tornado held a 31-12 advantage.
