First Quarter
Corey Coppola scored on a 3-yard touchdown run with 5:16 remaining the first quarter, putting Bluefield up on Richlands 7-0 after one quarter. Bluefield retained possession on a disputed fumble call, and the Beavers put the ball in the end zone.
Second Quarter
Zeke Vance scored a pair of touchdowns in a span of 1:14 to give Richlands a 21-14 halftime lead on Bluefield at an excited Ernie Hicks Stadium.
Vance scored on a 27-yard scoring pass from River Michaels with 2:25 on the clock to tie the score at 14-14. He then picked off an R.J. Bourne pass and returned it nearly 60 yards for another score, to give the Blues the lead at halftime.
Bluefield had taken a 14-7 lead with 4:59 on the clock on a 3-yard run by D.J. Stewart
Third Quarter
Bluefield and Richlands played to a scoreless third quarter. Richlands still leads 21-14 over the Beavers going to the final quarter.
Bluefield entered the game having scored 55.5 points a game. Richlands is trying to extend its win streak to four, and knock the Beavers off the top spot in the Class AA state ratings.
