NEW RICHMOND — Both teams went into the game 0-3, but the Warriors blanked the Bobcats to notch their first victory of the season.
Nik Walker ran 18 times for 211 yards and a pair of second-half touchdowns for Wyoming East (1-3).
Physical and tough were words used Summers County (0-4) coach Nate Tanner used to describe Wyoming East.
“They just kind of came out, punched us in the mouth, and that was the story of the game,” Tanner said. “They out physicaled us.”
Winning a game can energize a community, as Wyoming East coach Gary Poindexter said.
“Any time you win, your fans get into it,” Poindexter said. “It’s a better atmosphere when you’re winning.”
