Narrows holds off Mustangs

NARROWS, Va. — Rodney Perdue ran for 79 yards and scored a touchdown, and Terrance Martin’s extra point proved to be the difference, as Narrows e rebounded from a loss to Auburn to strand the Mustangs of Eastern Montgomery 7-6 on Friday night.
Narrows (1-1) led 7-0 at the break before the Mustangs scored in the third on a 5-yard run by Cody Claxton. The two-point conversion run by Alex Phillips failed.
Eastern Montgomery (0-2) outgained Narrows 236-140, but Gavin Givens picked off a pass by the Mustangs in the final 20 seconds to secure the win.
Perdue finished with 79 yards on 18 carries, while Martin had 52 yards on 11 attempts.
Narrows (1-1) will visit Montcalm on Friday.
