Bobcats hold off Panthers

HINTON — T.J. Smith threw for a touchdown and ran for the game-winning score in the fourth quarter to lead the Bobcats to a hard-fought win over the Panthers.
Chris McBride connected with Tanner Farley on a 64 yard completion in the fourth quarter to account for the final margin. Hunter Moses scored on a 37-yard run in the first period to tie the score at 6-6.
Smith threw for 46 yards, while Isaiah Brown ran for 145 yards. McBride threw for 157 yards for PikeView.
Jaquan Ayers put Summers County up 6-0 in the first on a 30 yard run. The Bobcats answered the Moses touchdown with a 6-yard pass from Smith to Caleb Hannah.
Smith’s 2-yard run in the fourth quarter put the Bobcats up 18-6.
Summers County will host James Monroe next week, while PikeView will entertain Independence.
