Three Panthers reach century mark as Twin Valley edges Montcalm

MONTCALM — Adam Quinley scored from five yards out during a 19-point third quarter, and Twin Valley held on to beat Montcalm 25-22 on Friday night at Prudich Stadium.
Three Twin Valley runners reached the century mark, including quarterback Shannon Adams (14-113) and running backs Quinley (28-105) and Cameron Barletto (22-108).
Barletto scored on a 10-yard run in the second quarter, while Adams hit paydirt twice in the third from 30 and 33 yards.
Montcalm took a 7-0 first quarter lead on a 21 yard scoring pass from Aaron Presley to Marcus Bailey. Barletto would narrow the margin to 7-6, but the missed extra point gave the Generals a 7-6 halftime lead.
Jason Grose got Montcalm on the board in the third quarter on an 85-yard touchdown run, and Matt Wilson dashed 37 yards for another score.
Wilson led the Generals with 103 yards on 18 carries, while Grose ran for 63 yards on 12 attempts. Marcus Bailey added 32 yards on the ground and caught four passes for 31 yards from Presley, who was 4-of-12 for 31 yards.
Adams was 4-of-8 for 35 yards for Twin Valley, with Logan Cantrell catching all four completions for 35 yards.
Penalties ruled the night, with the Panthers having 11 for 115 yards. Montcalm committed seven infractions for 55 yards.
