NARROWS, Va. — Cole Blaker threw for 138 yards and three touchdowns and run for another 68 yards and two more scores to lead Narrows to a 53-20 Mountain Empire District win over Fort Chiswell on homecoming Friday night at Ragsdale Field.
Narrows jumped out to a 21-7 first quarter lead, but the Pioneers narrowed the margin to 28-20 early in the final period before the Green Wave scored 25 points to finish the game.
Narrows (5-2) also received 113 yards rushing on 15 carries by Blaize Hopkins. Landon Neal had two catches for touchdowns of 29 and 40 yards. Austin Evans also caught a 51-yard scoring toss from Blaker.
Matthew Mullins had a fourth quarter blocked punt that was recovered in the end zone for a touchdown by Zach Parsell. Blaker also had an interception on defense for Narrows.
Bailey Snidow scored on a 7-yard run. Cam Honaker scored from six yards.
Colby Rider led the Pioneers (0-7) with 82 yards rushing and scoring runs of 2 and 1 yard. Davin Odum added a 3-yard first quarter score that pulled the Pioneers within 7-6. The Green Wave took a 28-12 lead into the break.
Narrows, which improved to 5-2 on the season, won its third straight game and will travel on Friday to Galax.
