GARDNER — Chase DeMoss ran for two touchdowns and caught a pass for another as the Tigers picked up their first victory of the season.
DeMoss scored on a 5-yard run in the second quarter , a 27-yard run in the third and on a 36-yard reception from Jarod Cline to ice the win. He ran for a game-high 172 yards on 17 carries.
Nathan Steiding ran for 43 yards and Cline completed 7 of 10 passes for 86 yards. Kicker Abby Gwinn was good on 3 of 4 kicks.
Jacob Plummer led the Tiger defense, forcing a safety in the fourth quarter. Jaron Bragg made an interception and Issac Smith, DeMoss and Jonathan Sawyer each recovered a PikeView fumble.
Hunter Mitchelson had a 76-yard breakaway touchdown for the Panthers in the first quarter. Levi Nash had their other score, a 2-yard run in the second period. Mitchelson finished with 114 yards on the evening.
Shady Spring (1-4) will host Oak Hill at 2 p.m. next Saturday. PikeView (0-5) remains at home to face Midland Trail on Friday.
