BRISTOL, Va. — The end couldn’t come soon enough for the Tazewell Bulldogs, very late on a Friday night.
Ryan Bradley threw for 359 yards for the Bearcats and Jordan Sewell caught seven passes for 239 yards and three touchdowns as Virginia High topped Tazewell 51-13 in a game that ended at 11:39 p.m. Friday.
The game’s start was set for 8:30, due to an Appalachian League ballgame at nearby DeVaught Memorial Stadium in Bristol, but even that kickoff came later than expected.
Tazewell quarterback T.J. Kitts racked up both scores for the Bulldogs. His 13-yard touchdown run in the second quarter, combined with Josh Murray’s point-after kick, gave the visitors a 7-6 lead.
The Bearcats scored the next 16 points and led 22-7 at the half.
The Bulldogs play Graham at Mitchell Stadium in Bluefield at 7 p.m. this Friday.
